In a hotel room, on a whim, I picked up the Gideon’s Bible and read the Sermon on the Mount. Good stuff. If you’re going to have an invisible friend, you could do a lot worse than that guy.
But it doesn’t seem to have much connection with Christianity! The Sermon on the Mount is straightforward, not a lot of mumbo-jumbo, and seems hard to misunderstand. “What would Jesus do?” is not exactly a brainteaser.
How simple does a message have to be before the majority of readers can understand it?
